3 Incredibly Useful Social Media Tools For Small Businesses

Take a quick scroll through Instagram and you will find post after post of social media tools! I don't know about you but - 1) I can't keep up and 2) it quickly becomes overwhelming. With so many tools on the market, I’ve rounded up the ones that have been the most useful to my small business. So much so that I use them every single day!

Let's Dive Right In!

Canva

Canva is my absolute favorite social media tool! I use it for all of my graphic design projects. Here are just a few of the projects I have created in Canva:

  1. Social Media Posts

  2. Instagram Reels (YES, you can make reels in Canva!)

  3. Instagram Reel Covers

  4. Instagram Highlight Covers

  5. Email Headers

  6. YouTube Video Thumbnails

The thing I love about Canva is that I DON’T need a graphic design background to create social media posts that are eye-catching! They have a library of templates, fonts and color styles making designing a post easy peasy, lemon squeezy! {winking emoji}

Clickup

Here’s the fluffy internet stuff: “ClickUp is the world's highest-rated project management tool. Used by teams in companies ranging from startups to enterprise companies, this project management platform has everything you need for managing projects and boosting productivity immediately.” {SOURCE}

I used Trello for years and just couldn’t wrap my head around it. Clickup is far more intuitive in my book. Here's a word of CAUTION - I went ALL IN with Clickup and had to slowly back out and fix all the rookie mistakes I made. {PRO TIP: Watch a few YouTube videos before you start creating spaces and folders and such - you’ll thank me later}

Now I’ve put together a great system for content creation and scheduling. It works like a dream for me and my little team. I’m able to take my client content from ideation to scheduled like a BOSS with the help of statuses, custom fields and automation!

With the phone app, I can upload inspiration directly into a task (picture, screenshot, client photos and more) or do a brain dump on the go! It definitely keeps this mom brain together!

ClickUp can do SOOO much on the free version. Definitely take it for a SPIN and see what you think!

Meta Business Suite

Facebook Business Suite (now Meta Business Suite) took me a while to warm up to - if I’m being honest. Content Creator Studio (also a Facebook tool) was being glitchy, so I didn’t trust anything new the Facebook creators were producing AND I was using Buffer - a 3rd party scheduling site, and it offered everything I needed!

There was more and more buzz a few months back about (at the time) Facebook Business Suite, so I gave it another try. I used it for a few months on only MY business posts and began to warm up to using it for my clients. I haven't experience ANY glitches since beginning to use it exclusively in October 2021. I provide my clients with Facebook and Instagram management, so using the Meta Business Suite provides me with all I need as a social media scheduler.

After some recent updates, here are some of my favorite features:

  1. Upcoming Important Dates on the Social Media Calendar

  2. Optimal Times for Audience

  3. Easy copy adjustments between Facebook and Instagram

Now, it’s my go-to scheduling tool! If I’m creating IG stories for clients with Canva that don’t involve stickers or GIFs, I can also upload them here and schedule them in advance!

What about you? Did your favorite social media app or tool make this list? If not, shout it out below in the comments!
