Engaging with your audience doesn’t need to take up hours of your day! With just a few minutes each day, you can keep your business top-of-mind, build strong customer relationships, and even generate leads.
This November, I'm making it easy for you with 30 daily engagement ideas. These tips work especially well for all service-based businesses - from plumbers and HVAC experts to landscapers and hairstylists. I've even included specific examples along the way!
Here’s your go-to plan for engaging daily—whether it’s reaching out to your followers, interacting with other local businesses, or simply thanking your customers.
Let’s get started!
Day 1: Ask for Local Recommendations
End a post with a question asking for local recommendations, like favorite coffee shops or restaurants.
LANDSCAPER Example: “What’s your go-to spot for brunch after a big yard cleanup? We’re looking for new local spots to support!”
HAIRSTYLIST Example: "I’m always on the lookout for great local spots to relax after a long day in the salon! Where’s your favorite place to grab coffee or lunch?"
Day 2: Personalize a Comment on a Follower’s Post
Take a few minutes to comment on recent posts from your followers. Adding a personal note makes them feel seen and appreciated.
Day 3: Create a Fun Poll in Stories
Ask something simple in your Stories, like, “Do you prefer mild or hot temperatures in November?” or “Do you prep your home for winter?” It’s a quick way to interact with your audience.
Day 4: Send DMs to Past Clients to Say Thanks
Reach out to a few past clients with a simple thank you for choosing your business. You can also offer a quick seasonal tip if relevant.
Day 5: Share a Local Event
Find a community event, like a winter market or charity fundraiser, and share it in your Stories. Tag the organizers and explain why it’s worth checking out.
Day 6: Ask for Energy-Saving Tips
Post a question asking for followers’ energy-saving or winter-prep tips. This draws them into a conversation and gives you insights into what your customers are thinking about.
Day 7: Show Support for Another Local Business
Share a post or tag a local business you appreciate. Show your community you’re invested in supporting other small businesses!
Day 8: Welcome New Followers via DM
Send a quick welcome message to recent followers, introducing your business and inviting them to reach out with questions.
